Instagram DM Broadcast

One message. Your recent conversations. Send a relevant follow-up to people who already DM’d you — while their 24-hour messaging window is still open.

Illustrative workflow—not a delivery guarantee

  1. Customer action: A supported incoming event reaches the connected account.
  2. Configured action: Repli checks the rule and attempts the configured response.
  3. Owner review: Inspect the actual result before assuming the next step completed.

Required account permissions, recipient eligibility and Meta limits still apply. A matching event or public reply is not proof of a delivered DM.

What is an Instagram DM broadcast?

An Instagram DM broadcast sends the same message as individual private DMs to an eligible audience. Repli targets people who sent your connected account a DM in the previous 24 hours. It is not a public Instagram broadcast channel, a follower export or a cold-DM tool.

How to send an Instagram DM broadcast

  1. Connect your Instagram account: Sign in to Repli, connect your professional Instagram account and open 24h DM Broadcast. If you have multiple connected accounts, select one of your own.
  2. Check the open audience: Review the number of people whose recorded inbound DM falls within the last 24 hours. The count refreshes every minute and can be refreshed manually.
  3. Write, confirm and send: Write your message, optionally add a link button and confirm the send. Repli recalculates the audience when sending and reports sent and failed totals.

What you get

Know who you can reach

See how many distinct people messaged the selected account in the last 24 hours, alongside your recent DM contact count.

An audience with a time limit

Repli calculates eligibility from recorded inbound DM timestamps. Following, liking or commenting alone does not qualify a person.

A message worth reopening

Write up to 990 characters for a useful update, relevant offer or follow-up to your recent conversations.

A clear next step

Add an optional button label and URL so recipients can visit your product, registration or booking page.

Use cases

Product restock

Share a restock update with recent DM contacts. Send only when the update is relevant to the audience.

Event reminder

Remind recent enquiries about your upcoming workshop and include a registration link.

Time-limited offer

Follow up with recent conversations about an offer you can actually honour.

Instagram DM marketing for conversations already started

A recent DM is a conversation, not permission to send unrelated promotions. Use Instagram DM retargeting for relevant follow-ups, product information or an update your recent contacts would expect.

Repli broadcasts to the selected account’s eligible audience, not a custom tag-based segment. Choose a message that fits everyone in that audience.

The 24-hour Instagram messaging window, explained

Each person has a separate window measured from their latest inbound DM. A new inbound message updates that timestamp. Your outbound broadcast does not reset it.

Repli calculates the open audience from the messages it has recorded. If an account was disconnected or a message event was not received, that person may not appear. Meta’s permissions, policies and delivery limits still apply.

The audience count is a recorded eligibility estimate

Repli scans a bounded recent inbound-message log for your selected owned account and recalculates the audience when sending starts. It is not a live Meta eligibility query or a full follower list.

The current worker does not recheck the clock for every recipient in the sequential send loop. A conversation near expiry can close before its turn, and Meta can reject the send. An open count is not a promise of final delivery or permission for unrelated marketing.

DM broadcasts vs Instagram broadcast channels

A broadcast channel is a shared Instagram channel people join. Repli DM broadcasts arrive as individual private messages in existing eligible conversations. They do not message all followers or bypass the 24-hour window.

Frequently asked questions

Who can receive a Repli Instagram DM broadcast?

Distinct people with a recorded inbound DM to your selected connected Instagram account in the previous 24 hours. A follow, like or public comment alone does not add someone to this audience.

What starts or resets the 24-hour DM window?

For this feature, a recorded inbound DM from the person starts or refreshes their window. A new outbound message from your business does not reset it. A comment-triggered private reply alone is not an inbound DM.

Can I send a broadcast to every Instagram follower?

No. Repli does not scrape followers or send cold DMs. Only recent inbound DM contacts within the 24-hour audience are eligible.

Which plans include Instagram DM broadcasts?

Sending is included on Pro (₹499 / US$6 per month), Growth, Pro+ and eligible higher tiers. Free and Creator users can view the audience count but must upgrade to send. Commerce remains beta and is not available to purchase.

Does the audience count update automatically?

Yes. The broadcast page refreshes its eligible count every minute and has a manual refresh control. The audience is calculated again when you send, so the final total may differ from the earlier count.

Can I add a button or select a different account?

Yes. Add an optional button label and destination URL. If you have more than one connected Instagram account, select the account to use. The selector lists only accounts connected by you.

Can I schedule messages or send after 24 hours?

No. This feature sends when you confirm it and does not schedule messages or provide a way around the 24-hour window.

Is delivery guaranteed?

No. Audience eligibility is calculated from recorded inbound messages when sending starts, not rechecked against Meta for every recipient. Windows may expire before a recipient’s turn. Repli reports sent and failed totals; a sent result is not proof of reading.
